One of my accepted submissions for this year's Art Attire Event on June 11, 2011 was a pair of elegant evening earrings made of vermeil gold and oxidized silver mesh with clear quartz and white topaz gemstones. I wanted to design something stunning that would be noticed from a distance as well as up close. Originally, the jewellery pieces were going to be worn and shown during the fashion show on the runway. The plan was to use models from the Victoria Ballet dressed in black to showcase the jewellery. Unfortunately, this plan was not carried out and in the end the pieces were put on display in a case instead. I was still grateful for the inspiration to design something eye catching and was extremely happy with the result.
Bejewelled Lace
These luxurious, fresh and modern, statement earrings were designed for the woman who enjoys her feminine and sexy side while simultaneously exuding elegance and sophistication.
The large, light weight, 18K textured, vermeil gold ellipse shaped frames have been wire wrapped with fine gauge oxidized sterling silver and finished with 14K gold filled lever backs. Encased in the delicate and intricate asymmetric crochet/weave are shimmering white topaz and clear quartz faceted gemstones in a variety of shapes. The fine checker and briolette facets capture the light and provide ample sparkle, accentuating the playful movement of these striking earrings.
Measurements:
Total Length from top of the lever back: 88mm
Price: 499.00
